Anna Pitjara (Petyarre)

Anna Pitjara (Petyarre) is also known as Anna Price Petyarre. She is the daughter of the late
Glory Ngarla and the niece of the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye, and was taught to paint
under the guidance of Gloria Petyarre.
Anna is a very popular artist and traditionally paints Yam Seed, Yam Flower, Body Paint and
Women’s Ceremony. The Yam Seed and Yam Flower are her grandfather’s dreaming. She
resides at Mulga Bore, Utopia, Northern Territory. Anna commenced painting in the early
1980’s.
