Carlos Páez Vilaró was a Uruguayan artist who stood out in various disciplines such as painting, ceramics, sculpture, muralism, writing and music123. He was born in Montevideo on November 1, 1923 and moved to Buenos Aires in his youth, where he worked in the graphic sector124. His work was greatly influenced by American folklore, especially candombe, to which he was linked since the years 4025. He made numerous cultural trips around the world and built his famous house-workshop Casapueblo in Punta Ballena, where he died on February 24. of 2014.
