Américo Spósito (March 29, 1924 – April 20, 2005) was a Uruguayan painter and plastic artist.
Américo Spósito began his studies at the Italian school of Enzo Kabregu. He studied at the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Montevideo and then went to the Taller Torres García in 1942.

In the 1960s he was a co-founder of the “Group 8” of Uruguay, which was made up of Óscar García Reino, Carlos Páez Vilaró, Miguel Ángel Pareja, Raúl Pavlotzky, Lincoln Presno, Alfredo Testoni and Julio Verdié, where they exhibited on several occasions, joining the movement. abstract in the 60s.3
